Moses and Jesus

As a child of humble beginnings, Pharaoh ordered a mass murdering of children under two years of age.
To redeem his people, Moses came up out of Egypt as prophesied by God.
As a very young child, he was cared for by kings.
Moses grew up in the palace. The place of highest esteem in his culture.
As his crowning achievement, he brought his people out of slavery, although they were rebellious.
The Israelites experienced about 400 years of dark silence from God while enslaved in Egypt before Moses delivered them from bondage.
Moses wandered in the wilderness, tempted to sin.
Moses was royalty in Egypt but left his position to serve his people.
Moses was both royal master and slave at the same time being both royal and Hebrew.
Moses carried the law and pointed forward to the gospel.
Moses raised a snake on a pole so that anyone who gazed upon it would be saved from certain physical death.
Moses initiated the first Passover and the lamb slain for that ceremony.
Moses showed the people the way to the Promised Land.
While dying in the desert, the Hebrews cried out for water. Moses delivered it from a rock.

While dying in a desert of sin, we cry out for salvation. Jesus delivers that water of life.
Jesus is the author of our faith. |
It is never a coincidence when it concerns our God.
